Your website is so precious and very informative. You have such a strong little boy. My son was born almost 1 month before his due date, I thought he was small. I can\'t image how small a 24 week old must look. Thanks for signing up for my webring. Take care and God bless you and your family.

Hi Debby, Michael and all in your family. I just got done reading your inspirational story from beginning to end. Michael is sure a blessing from heaven. He is such a strong little guy and I am sure God has special plans for him. Debby, you are a wonderful mother to love this little boy so very much. I am sure you have had and will have future \"challenges\" in your motherhood with Michael. You know....someone once told me something that I now truely believe in...\"God won\'t bring you to it if he can\'t bring you through it\". This has become my \"Inspirational Quote\" and I use it quite often now. I remember this quote on a daily basis and when I think \"I have had enough\", it keeps me going.
I am a mother to 9 kids. My husband and I now have 8 sons and 1 daughter. Five of our children are adopted. Many of our children are special needs. Our youngest son is 3 years old and has Autism. We have had him since he was 2 days old and he was diagnosed when he was 26 months.

In Italy there are so poor info about prematurity (no more than 2/3 w-sites). Your web site is so interesting and sincer...
I will pray for your child and I wish all well.

Having a premature baby is a frightening experience. But with the grace of God, we can all make it through this journey. You have a wonderful website. Your son Michael is truly a blessing from God. My son Daniel was born at 22 weeks, weighing 1.4. He is a precious from God.

I have a 23.5 wk preemie born 11/30/99 weighing 1lb 7oz. with a lot of the same difficulties. I have just got up the nerve to try again and am currently 18 weeks pregnant. I stumbled across your site, and wound up reading your entire story in one sitting! How strong of a person you must be to have weathered all you have so far in Michael\'s young life.
My family went through the NICU experience too, with a 28 weeker, but thankfully our NICU staff was supportive and understanding - had it not been for my son\'s nurses, I don\'t know that I\'d have come out of it sane at all.
Yoru family is in my prayers - for continued strength and guidance.
    Thanks for sharing your story.

Would just like to say, that as heart wrenching your story was, it was also a comfort. Our son Lewis was 14 weeks old and in hospital with rsv and pnuemonia. Very frightening, the doctors sent him away twice saying he had a cold. which looking back is quite disturbing. He has been home for 2 weeks now, and has got rsv again! I was wondering how common it is to get lung problem after lung problem, but on reading your story it seems, that we should think positive. Any underlying reason for this im sure will be ok. Thinking of you and your family xx

    Dear Michael,

I\'m another of your father\'s Moto Guzzi friends, albeit from Denmark. I\'m also a father of twin boys soon to be 18, so I know the ups and downs of being a parent. Both my sons are healthy, in good shape and they are doing well in senior high school. I have always told them that they should feel blessed having two arms, two legs and a good health, but kids in that age take everything for granted, unfortunately. As a result of that I actually forced them to view your homepage and make comments to it. I can guarantee you that it made think twice about life in general. They even called you a gutsy little fellar, which is a major compliment from them.
To summarise I\'ll also echo what everybody else has stated on this site: You are a brave little man and with all the loving support from Mom and Dad you will make here in life, no doubt about that.

All the best to you and give Mom and Dad a big hug.

    Best wishes from
    Søren Tikkanen and family.

Coments =  You have really been through the wringer. I worked in
ababy birthing unit here in Wisconsin and the nurses were never so
unconcerned as yours were.  I think you did wonderfully by becoming such
an advocate for your son. We hear a lot of complaints about health care
here but your story is unlike any of them. Good luck! Kath

foods and i also worry about his behaivour,he is also partially sighted
due to retinopathy of premiturity, i guess i have along way to go before

She had two surgeries on her intestines, laser eye surgery, and she has chronic lung disase. she should be going home soon on oxygen. Its been tough but Mariah is a fighting little girl. I enjoy reading experiences about other premature babies because it gives me hope to know these babies can survive. I don\'t have a email address so I can\'t talk to you personally but I\'m a fighting Mom as well and can say Iknow what you are dealing with. Best Wishes!!!!!!!!

my son cayden was born january 31st, 2006, with renal failure, hydrops
fetals and brain bleed grade 3. I am like you were at the begining of your son's
life totally lost and wounded unsure what to do my son is very sick but
he is still fighting hard to live. the doctors have advised me of the
difficult road ahead for cayden if he lives, but i didn't not fully understand
what they were trying to tell me until i read michael story on your web site.
I live in the bahamas and we have little or no assistance for childen
with thise special need, from your experience do you think my child has the
ability to live a functionaly life.

    Hi

I just came across your site and its wonderful and very well put together.
We had our 1st born at 28 weeks in Feb 2003 due to pre-eclampsia and hellp syndrome.
Thomas was 2lbs and went through so much in his life.. he was a fighter but after 8MTHS in Neo Natal he died due to septicema.
it was the end of a very long journey...

      ****His webpage:http://thomas-russell.memory-of.com *****

    Please take a look
I know exactly how it must have been for you and so pleased to hear your son made it home... thou  i can imagine it must still be hard.
I did want to say one thing about the site and please dont take this the wrong way!

The percentages you have for babies born at varous gestations.. yes they look great on paper  the later the gestation the higher chance of your baby coming home!!.. but like in our case Tom was born at 28 weeks and had a high chance of survival.. but he still died.. and as a parent you get told the chances we were told about 80% never thinking about the other 20 %... just thought you could be a little side note next to these as some parents like us.. are going to be dealt the other side of the percentage.

I hope i have not offened you?? I have no intention to do so..... but just seeing from the other side.. wish i didnt have to... but thats life!!
wishing you and  your son health and happiness for the future.

    hi ,
i am a member of p2p website , after reading your post and clicking on your website i was trully amazed. both you , michael and your family have been on a long hard journey.i felt so many different emotions reading your story.i felt a lot of anger at the way you have been treated, or rather kept in the dark about Michaels conditions.it has been a very moving and touching journey for you.you are such a strong woman , i know you have had to be , it shows how strong your love is for Michael.
with all your going through you have made such an amazing site and a very informative one for other parents. it makes me feel that my problems have been so trivial.my son has had reflux since birth and we have never had the support from d.r's .
wishing you and your family all the best for the future ,you do have an amzing little boy ,he trully has been a fighter.
                God bless
